In the Colares region, with breathtaking views of the sea and the Sintra Mountain Range, the vines grow and proliferate on sandy grounds. Finally, Carcavelos, with its’ rolling hills and moderate climate, is cradle to the wine that once was the most famous fortified wine in Portugal. The tour begins with a brief stroll in the historic centre of the romantic town of Sintra to savour the famous "travesseiros" (pillows in English) a traditional pastry from Sintra, an example of a regional Conventual confectionery.
